Now instead of our past unconsciously driving our present behavior, we have awareness. We can understand the forces at work inside of us and make choices about who and how we want to be in the world.

Your story may have started in a nurturing family with imperfect but attentive parents. Or your story may have begun in a family where you experienced neglect, criticism, over-indulgence, abandonment, or abuse.
